Statistics law bill reaches the State Great Khural as MP Enkhtuvshin calls the draft flawed

Today’s (15 October 2026) State Great Khural agenda includes a “whether to discuss” debate on the revised Statistics Law sponsored by MP A. Ariunzaya and six other members and submitted on 29 June 2026, ikon.mn reported. Official parliamentary materials describe the draft as updating the national statistics system, the National Statistics Office’s powers, a council, risk management and primary units.

UBN quoted MP D. Enkhtuvshin telling Ariunzaya the submitted draft was “full of mistakes” and should not have been brought forward in that form. That is a member’s position at the stage of deciding whether to debate the bill, not a final enactment.
