Hero Entertainment’s B. Baatar released with ban on leaving capital or country
A district court replaced his detention with restrictions on leaving Ulaanbaatar or crossing the border, citing health grounds; fraud and money-laundering charges remain.
On October 14 a district criminal and civil court changed the detention of Hero Entertainment director B. Baatar, releasing him on health grounds while restricting him from leaving Ulaanbaatar or crossing Mongolia’s borders, ikon.mn, UBN and Eguur.mn reported.
The court decision
Acting on a request from his lawyers and considering the case file and his health, the court replaced the one-month detention ordered from October 5. According to a summary by judge D. Darisuren, the restriction on leaving the capital or the country is meant to prevent interference with the investigation and further offences.
Baatar was charged by the capital prosecutor’s office with offences including fraud and money-laundering and had earlier been subject to a border ban before detention. No final judgment on the case has been issued.
