DP control committee moves to remove S. Bayartsogt as general secretary
The Democratic Party Central Control Committee on November 6 announced a decision to relieve general secretary S. Bayartsogt. Some members say the move conflicts with the party charter.

The Democratic Party's Central Control Committee met on November 6 and announced a decision to relieve general secretary S. Bayartsogt of his duties. According to Hemnel.mn, iSee.mn and khumuun.mn, 13 of the committee's 15 members took part and backed the move unanimously.
The committee said Bayartsogt and the party apparatus had repeatedly failed to carry out instructions to re-run contested internal elections in some branches and had not resolved members' complaints.
Some members and observers argue the decision conflicts with the party charter. iSee.mn reported that removing the general secretary is not within the control committee's sole authority and should go to the National Policy Committee. Critics also said the matter was taken up without first being heard by aimag or capital branch control bodies, which the accompanying rules forbid. DP control committee member D. Tsendsuren and MP Ch. Unurbayar were among those highlighting the charter dispute.
Bayartsogt was in Seoul at the time for the ICAPP Asian political parties assembly, news outlets reported. On X, users shared posts criticizing the timing and the party's internal conflict. Whether the decision will stand, and how the National Policy Committee responds, remained unclear when this article was prepared.
