Below are the seven topics Mongolian users discussed most on X between 18:14 and 22:14 on October 28. Engagement was relatively low this cycle; post metrics were recorded at 22:35.

1. Fuel queues: a railway board member says 1,465 loaded tank wagons are standing on the network, and the mayor warns filling stations (new development)

The fuel queues were discussed with new figures this time. The most widely shared post came from B. Tsogtgerel-Shilen, a board member of Ulaanbaatar Railway (UBTZ), who wrote that 1,465 loaded tank wagons were on the UBTZ network: 1,284 carrying diesel, 120 carrying AI-92 petrol and 61 carrying jet fuel. He said 715 wagons at stations were ready to be unloaded but only 120 had unloading orders, with full storage depots given as the reason, and he called for the 162 fuel importers to be asked why queues persist. We could not confirm these figures with another official source.

UBN.mn published a video of Ulaanbaatar Mayor B. Pürevdagva saying that if filling stations with stock refuse to sell, or open only one nozzle and create artificial queues and traffic jams, the city will take measures up to cancelling their land rights. The traffic police also said a decision had been made to temporarily stop filling stations along Uul road from operating, to prevent gridlock. In a field report, Eguur.mn found some drivers had spent the night in their cars outside filling stations waiting for fuel.

2. S. Bayar says his cousins built the three Baga Tenger houses and took no money from him (new development)

The dispute over the houses near Baga Tenger took a new turn. Following his earlier reply, covered in our 2 PM roundup, that he lives in the house on the left, former Prime Minister S. Bayar wrote "Since people keep asking, let me answer and close the matter." He said his cousins built the three houses in the photo together with the construction company Green Resource and took no money from him. He added that he did not know how many billions of togrog the houses were worth, that they were probably expensive because they were well built to a "green" standard, and that he has no business interests. UBN.mn reported the statement.

3. Mayor B. Pürevdagva tells MONNIS to withdraw its complaint over an electric bus tender

UBN.mn published a video of Mayor B. Pürevdagva telling MONNIS, which filed a complaint over a tender to buy 60 electric buses, to "put its small business interests aside and withdraw the complaint." According to the mayor, the city announced the tender to buy 60 electric buses before the end of the year, and the company complained after it was not selected. Ikon.mn earlier reported the capital's plan to buy 60 electric buses as part of a public transport fleet renewal. No source has yet reported MONNIS's position.

4. School No. 149 in Chingeltei district stops burning coal and switches to LPG heating

The heating at School No. 149 was switched to a liquefied petroleum gas system and opened today. The school previously burned an average of 420 tonnes of raw coal a year. According to Mongolian National Broadcaster, Prime Minister N. Uchral, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Ts. Sandag-Ochir and Mayor B. Pürevdagva attended the opening. SouthGobi Sands financed the work with 1% of its taxable income, and Gazcom carried it out. Replacing two coal boilers with 15 gas boilers is expected to cut pollution by as much as removing the chimneys of more than 90 households.

Chingeltei district governor N. Manduul wrote that work had begun to connect the school to a 70 kW solar system with 25 kWh of battery storage, due to start operating in mid-November. 5. Conflicting reports on the Tavantolgoi–Manlai–Khangi road and Khangi port

NTV reported that the 473 km Tavantolgoi–Manlai–Khangi road had been closed indefinitely since yesterday. Today, the Ministry of Economy and Development, the Ministry of Road and Transport, and representatives of carriers met to discuss the road-use fees set in the route's concession agreement. Vlogger "Erkh Chölööt Orgio", citing an unnamed source, wrote that Khangi port had been closed since yesterday evening and was reopened today after quick action by the Prime Minister, while some users replied that the port was operating normally. No official source has confirmed whether the port was closed.

6. President U. Khürelsükh's visits and an assessment of foreign policy in 2021–2026

After President U. Khürelsükh's visits to Germany, Finland and Belarus, analyst B. Bolor-Erdene shared an essay titled "Mongolia's foreign policy tandem, 2021–2026". He argued that although the Constitution gives parliament the job of setting the basis of foreign policy and the government the job of carrying it out, the President played the leading role in setting, carrying out and representing foreign policy in 2021–2026. Mongolia's The MongolZ lost 0:2 to Nemiga in the decider for a playoff spot at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026. According to HLTV, Nemiga won Cache 13:5 and Dust2 19:15 after double overtime. The MongolZ led 12:9 on Dust2 but could not close out the map. The team finished the event 9th–11th with a 2–3 record.
