State Elephant Ts. Myagmarsuren out for two years
Under the council's Resolution No. 2 of October 16, 2026, State Elephant (Ulsyn zaan) Ts. Myagmarsuren is barred from competing at any level for 24 months. The council found that he had abandoned a bout without finishing it.
2.8-year ban for striking an opponent
Under Resolution No. 14 of September 25, the council banned Soum Hawk R. Amgalanbaatar of Tseel soum, Gobi-Altai province, from all competitions for 2.8 years. At the Tseel soum naadam he struck his opponent, Soum Elephant B. Lkhagva-Ochir, hard on the head, and video of his opponent falling to the ground spread widely online. According to iSee.mn, a police inquiry found that Lkhagva-Ochir suffered minor injuries, and the criminal investigation is continuing. The council said the act violated the ethics of Mongolian wrestling and showed disrespect to the spectators and the officials.
State Falcon D. Tserentogtokh of Zag soum, Bayankhongor, was also banned for four months for an ethics violation at the naadam celebrating the province's 85th anniversary.
14-month bans for 25 no-shows at Naadam
An annex to the council's October 16 resolution lists 45 wrestlers, led by State Falcons B. Baatartsol and G. Darjaajantsan and State Hawk G. Batbayar, whose bans range from four to 14 months. According to UBN, 25 of them received 14 months for registering for the national Naadam festival and then failing to turn up.
The bans run from the date each wrestler was suspended from competition. The council said the decisions aim to uphold the ethics and traditions of Mongolian wrestling, enforce the rules of competition and strengthen wrestlers' accountability.
