MP M. Enkhtsetseg said on Wednesday that an aide to Energy Minister B. Naidalaa interrupted an interview she was giving to journalists at the State Palace and assaulted her. The MP's account
According to iSee.mn, M. Enkhtsetseg said she had been criticising leadership appointments and the dismissal of experienced staff in the energy sector, and had submitted a formal inquiry to the Ministry of Energy on the matter. She said that while she was giving an interview to News.mn, the minister's aide came over, started an argument and, as the MP tried to film her on her phone, struck her hand. "This is not just about me; it concerns the conditions for MPs to work independently and their immunity," she said, adding that she had reported the incident to the relevant authorities.
M. Enkhtsetseg also said that 10 MPs had signed a motion to dismiss Energy Minister B. Naidalaa. The argument began, she said, while she was criticising the appointment of HUN Party members to leadership posts in the sector and saying that the minister planned to make his aide a commissioner of the Energy Regulatory Commission.

Tensions between M. Enkhtsetseg and B. Naidalaa escalated in September over a 600 MW renewable energy tender linked to power supply for Oyu Tolgoi. At the time, the MP said the tender was being run without sufficient public information or the necessary studies, while the minister rejected the criticism and said it was being conducted in line with the law and regulations.
