OpenAI rolls out GPT-6 and Intelligent UI in ChatGPT, adding interactive charts, forms and in-chat tools
OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6 with Intelligent UI on October 7 to Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, expanding to Free and Go on October 8, so ChatGPT can answer with interactive graphics, buttons, forms and tools inside the conversation.

OpenAI on October 7 began a broad rollout of GPT-6 and Intelligent UI in ChatGPT, according to its launch post. The company says the update brings interactive interfaces to more than 1.2 billion weekly ChatGPT users.
What Intelligent UI does. OpenAI says GPT-6 can compose answers from text, visuals and interactive elements keyed to the question—graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts and tools usable inside the chat. TechRepublic highlighted examples such as savings calculators, bill splitters, trip maps and interactive diagrams. When plain text is enough, ChatGPT can still reply in text only.
Speed. OpenAI reported that GPT-6 Instant starts answering web-search questions 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant—measuring time-to-first-answer, not full completion. The model can also begin answering while it continues thinking, streaming partial responses that stay cohesive.
Availability. Rollout started October 7 for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise in the Chat tab, expanding to Free and Go beginning October 8. Paid tiers use GPT-6 Sol; Free and Go use GPT-6 Luna. Enterprise access depends on admin settings. The change applies to Chat only; Work and Codex models are unchanged.
Limits and safety. Per OpenAI’s Help Center, Intelligent UI works on the web and updated apps at Instant through Extra High effort; it is unavailable at Pro effort and in older desktop apps. There is no separate quota beyond existing plan limits. OpenAI says GPT-6 builds on Astra’s safety work with stronger resistance to high-risk misuse involving cyberattacks, biological threats and violence, detailed further in the system card.
Intelligent UI marks a product shift: instead of forcing every task into a fixed chat format, ChatGPT can shape an interface around what the user is trying to do.
