1. Nomrog fire: the Prime Minister orders officials held accountable and a probe into Mobicom (new development)

Prime Minister N. Uchral reviewed on October 26 how the government's instructions on the fire in the Nomrog Strictly Protected Area were being carried out, and gave new orders to officials. It was the most widely shared topic of the evening. According to UBN, he instructed Finance Minister Z. Mendsaikhan to hold E. Gantulga, head of the Border Port Administration, accountable. He instructed J. Byambasuren, head of the General Authority for Border Protection, to hold B. Gantogs, commander of border unit 0198, accountable and dismiss him. UBN and GoGo.mn reported that the orders call for both officials to be removed. 2. Petition to scrap the garage tax passes 100,000 supporters (new development)

A proposal to exempt one garage or parking space that a citizen owns for family use from immovable property tax reached its target of 100,000 supporters on the government's e-zasag.mn platform. Lawyer Batkhuu posted in the evening that 99,170 people had signed and asked the 100,000th supporter to share a screenshot. That post drew the most engagement of the period, and users soon reported that the target had been met. As of 22:36, e-zasag.mn showed 100,187 supporters. Signature collection closes on November 5. TAC.mn reported that a proposal with 100,000 supporters goes to the Prime Minister, and after a Cabinet discussion it can be submitted to parliament as a bill.

3. President's Office to respond tomorrow to Nyambaatar's claims (new development)

UBN reported that former Ulaanbaatar mayor Kh. Nyambaatar made several serious claims against President U. Khurelsukh while the President was on state visits to Germany, Finland and Belarus. Ts. Ganzorig, head of the President's Office press service, said the President would end his visit today. He said the office would issue an evidence-based rebuttal of Nyambaatar's claims on October 27, after the delegation returns. 4. Evening gridlock and packed buses frustrate users

Other users said schoolchildren are left standing in the cold at bus stops between 6 and 7 pm. Some described near-standstill traffic from the Zhukov intersection to Sukhbaatar Square. Others pointed to the paradox of fuel shortages while cars burn fuel idling in traffic jams. 5. Mongolbank's accumulated losses and the government bond dispute

How to cover Mongolbank's accumulated losses came up again. According to MNB, central bank Governor S. Narantsogt told members of parliament's Economic Standing Committee on September 29 that the bank's accumulated loss had reached ₮7.5 trillion. He linked it to the price stabilization program, mortgage lending and other programs. NTV and some other sites cite a figure of ₮6.9 trillion. UBN reported that Finance Minister Z. 7. Court bars B. Chinbat, known as "Urikhan," from leaving the country

According to UBN, the Chingeltei District Prosecutor's Office is investigating defendant B. Chinbat on criminal charges of fraud, embezzlement and tax evasion under the Criminal Code. It asked the court to bar him from leaving Mongolia as a preventive measure. After reviewing the case file, the prosecutor's request and the defence lawyers' arguments, the court ordered the travel restriction from October 26. His guilt has not been established by a court.
